There are hundreds of Mardi Grad Beads hanging on this tree. Also some womens underwear. If only I could describe how out in the middle of nowhere this is. Currently my favorite xmas tree ever.

Opening Day 2010

Managed to drag my butt up the mountain and was rewarded with some sunshine. The deck view is a better representation of the conditions.

Opening Day Vail 2010

It was a record open in terms of chairs and terrain open. 1100 acres and 12 chairs. And it's still mid-November. Got almost 3 hours in and that's all I could take. Old guy skiing at 11000 ft. Another winning America's Funniest Home Video went un-filmed today:)

Vail Opens Tomorrow!!!

“This opening scenario is probably better than we even dare to hope for and it doesn’t happen very often", said Chris Jarnot, chief operating officer of Vail Mountain. “We’ve been blessed with some of the best early-season snow we’ve ever had, and our crews have worked incredibly hard to prepare as much terrain and as many lifts as possible. I know everyone in town and certainly everyone at Vail Resorts is excited to kick off Vail’s winter season on Friday.”

One Down

1st ski day in 20 years yesterday. Drove w/ roomie up to Keystone. Snow was in great shape. Conditions were somewhat sketchy with some high winds and heavy snow at the top. Good news is: that I remember how to do this. Bad news is: I am old. My wind is not good enough but that will come with time. I didn't take the camera w/ me, but I will try to bring it if I go again today.

Going Skiing!!!!!

I can't wait any longer. Hitching a ride with my roomie Brian and we are running over to Keystone. It's been snowing for the last 3 days and they have like 14" in the last week. 1st day back after 20 years, but I am not nervous....much:)

Doldrums

Waiting for Vail to open. 11/19, one week away. All the resorts in Summit are open but i am going to wait for Vail. Not much to do though.
